They Said You'd Come Back Running

They said you'd come back running That you couldn't get along They said that I was wrong To let you have my heart But baby, weren't they wrong They said you'd come back running To arms where you belong They said that you'd awake Discover your mistake But oh, baby, weren't they wrong The thought of other arms about you Haunts my heart since you went away I never had a single doubt about you I just knew that you'd return someday I don't know why I ever listen Believe in what they said They said you'd come back running Well, you didn't come back running You, you just run away Baby, tell me, tell me, why did you run away
